Recommended Paper for Printing Signs
Choosing the right paper can make a big difference to the appearance and durability of your printable signs. While standard printer paper is suitable for temporary use, heavier paper or cardstock produces a much more professional finish. If your sign will be displayed outdoors, waterproof paper or additional protection is recommended.

- Lamination (Best Overall) – A 125-micron laminating pouch makes signs waterproof, wipe-clean and highly durable.
- Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets – An excellent alternative if you do not own a laminator. Simply sandwich the printed sign between two clear adhesive sheets.
- Plastic Document Wallets – A low-cost solution for temporary outdoor displays. Secure the wallet to a fence, gate or wall using tape, cable ties or drawing pins.
- Display Pockets or Sign Holders – Perfect for workshops, warehouses, offices and classrooms where signs may need replacing regularly.

Printing Tips
For the best results, print your signs using your printer's highest quality setting. Allow the ink to dry completely before laminating or mounting the sign to avoid smudging.
